The Last Mandrill (born as Wybe Wiersma in 1997) is a multi-instrumentalist who wanted to be able to produce his own music as well, he graduated his second bachelor (classical) Composition and Music Production Cum Laude at the Prins Claus Conservatory after finishing his bachelor guitar at ArtEZ Conservatory of Zwolle. Having played in numerous rockbands (The Mandrills, Curnoi, Kofko’s Courtesy, MANDRILL MACHINE) he is now releasing his music at his self-proclaimed label Double Double You Records.
His classical compositions have been played at Grachtenfestival, Gaudeamus Festival and November Music. In 2025 he organised a series of classical concerts representing himself as a cultural representant of the city of Groningen.
He also made music for the award-winning animation Lucid (2022).
